The "Duplicate entry..." thing is an old bug of adodb that was fixed in my test svn but it got wiped by updating to the latest adodb class.

I've tested the tracker locally on my pc and it seems to run fine. I've now uploaded it to my hosting isp and I now get the following error when trying to run install.php :

Fatal error: Smarty error: unable to write to $compile_dir '/zzzzzzzz/zzzzzzzz/public_html/postracker/cache/templates_c'. Be sure $compile_dir is writable by the web server user. in /zzzzzzzz/zzzzzzzz/public_html/postracker/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088

Cannot seem to get the API import to work.

This is using the full key for the ceo account.... so it should have the access.

There is only one sql statement that I know that uses a select within a select. I didn't write it and have never bothered to change it as it works. The order by moonName does work, but its overwritten by another function that re-orders the towers by how long the tower has remaining on.

Someone care to explain the silo configuration for me? What is considered input silo, what is considered output?

I am making crystalline carbonide and it seems not to work right. Two silo hold the simple materials (Carbon Polymers and Crystallite Alloy) then the complex reactor and the silo for the complex material which is the output from the reactor ( Crystalline carbonide). So now i wonder whats considered input/output silo? And how to they need to be connected and whats the "link to" thing doing? I ask cause on API import some silos don't get imported (both simple ones and both my complex reaction POS's) and the other ones with the advanced material show me wrong figures... the silos on the moon mining and simple reaction POS's seem to be fine...

Interesting looking tool, still feeling my way with it.

On my install for PHP 5.0.4, I had to make this change to get API character lookup to work:-

Line 3576 in includes/class.pos.php

if ($character === FALSE)

rather than

if (!$character).....

PHP is not as strongly typed as I would prefer, this behaviour might be one of those things that has changed between versions or something in php.ini that is just too tedious to Google out.

In general, if something might be FALSE, but it might be something else as well, the triple-equals test is a better bet.

great work John! Just a quick issue with constellation sov. It doesn't actually give you any fuel reduction bonus over any other sov level, which was throwing off numbers for some of my POSes.

temporary fix for those who have a POS in a const. sov place:

I am trying to use the tracker for multiple corps ( so diff keys ) I had problem when I first setup the db, where by it would not allow me to update via api ( insuff privs ), but after clearing out the api table, and re-adding, all was well, now I am adding a diff corp, so new key, and getting the same error.

I'm having an issue where it is counting system sovereignity status for our 0.0 towers as "hostile", even though our alliance has sovereignity in the systems in question. I've checked database ids for alliance ownership in the relevant systems and our towers, and they match up perfectly. Due to this issue we're not getting sov fuel reduction bonuses. Any suggestions?

Hello again,

Another issue, if a tower is anchored (has no fuel and offline) I am still getting an e-mail.

This tower is purposely offline, and is set for future expansion if needed.

Would it be possible to have a flag to turn OFF e-mail alerts for a specific tower, on the request of the owner?

It should work fine. Only thing I can think of is either it corrupted when uploading or you click the upgrade check box when your not really upgrading.

Currently on the SVN, outpost are in and working, charters are just about done, just need to figure out how I want to add the option of turning them on and off.

A new package should be coming soon.

crontab is a scheduling service for linux and Unix based systems. It needs to be pointed at the .sh scripts included. Check with your host on how to do this.

The mailconfig.php will be specific to your install. It needs an email account to work properly. Basically your giving it the details to that email account.

The problem with the mailconfig file is that I have filled out the fields but am not too sure on if I did it right or not (some of the labels im a bit confused about.) Ill post below what ive done so if you can tell me where i went wrong it would be cool (ive replaced some stuff with random names for privacy ect ect):

Problem?

I'm getting this at the second step of the install (install.php?step=2) on a fresh install and fresh database (I'd never had it before). All I can really tell from this is what the error message tells me regarding the location of the problem. Beyond that I'm an SQL newbie and not great with PHP yet. If there is any more info that will help please let me know. Unfortunately if a fix requires any kind of direct access to the MySQL server's config I'm out of luck, I'm using commercial hosting that doesn't give me that kind of access.

I thought I had read that the images would be shrunk ( as the current install is huge 72MB ) but a "quick" scan through the posts, did not yield a quote...
So Johnathan, is this something that is going to happen ? as a reduction from png to jpg yielded me about 90% reduction in size.

I'm now working with beta 3. I'm no longer getting the charset error, and everything seemed to be going well. Then I noticed the install script was stalling at "Creating/Updating tables" and not progressing or throwing errors. I let it sit for 12 hours to see if it was just going slowly and then used phpMyAdmin to check and see if it was putting anything into the database as it should be and it isn't. The database is still completely empty. It has not thrown any database connection errors but it seems to be failing to create tables and inject the data properly. Is there a way to change the time? I would like it to follow eve time, but atm it's a few hours off.

Edit: Actually it looks like the time never change. I've made the cron to update through the API every hour, but all towers are still showing "last time updated" at 22:00. The cron works though and the towers are really getting updated every hour. The date gets updated, but not the time.

It appears that the install went through as it proceeded through the steps as I figure it should. My problem now is that I cant log in. Step 2 asks for an email address and password for the admin account. When the rest of the install is done, I figure I can log in with the email address, but it asks for a char name. I figure I need to register the char name, and proceed to the register page using the IGB and register with the same email address and password. When I attempt to log in, it is just going back to the login page as if I entered the password wrong. According to the DB, the user was created.

POS-Tracker 3.0.0 Beta 4 released. This is mostly bug fixes and miner improvements.

Two important notes about upgrading: config.php has changed so if you have made any changes to it you will need to make them to the new version. There are no database changes in beta 3 to beta 4 so using upgrade.php is not needed.

Check your database and make sure your tower_info table has a field called outpost_id and not outpost_name

That did fix it, thank you. Tho it came out of the box while installing it (seems to be in teh install routine itself.

When you dont have a high acces level (like4) on some pages you seem to be brought back to the loginscreen, on others it tells you you have no access and on some you get a white page with a message telling you you are a worm or something. If the ability to assign a corp hanger for fuel storage would be there it would be great. I think its fair to say that many people do that.

If you created the tables manually, what problem are you having now? If you have done that, there is no reason to run install.php. If its not giving you an error, check in your php log file.

Well there isn't any admin user or anything in the tables. Just empty tables. I just run the sql file that come with install package.

Check with your host on instructions on exactly how to setup a crontab. For pos api point it to poscron.sh. For sovereignty and alliance list, point it to postrackercron.sh. Make sure you edit both of them with the full absolute path. poscron.sh should run every 6 hours and postrackercron.sh should run once a day. If you want to use the mail, i suggest coping one of files to another file and point it to cron_mail.php and tell it how often you want to get email in your email box when your tower is low

It actually solved the problem that when installing it installs and installs and installs.

in the function getPasswordHash($salt, $password )
replace: "return (hash('md5', $salt.$password ) );"
with: "return (md5( $salt.$password ) );"

depending what hash module you have. If you have mhash, than it should be md5() function. If you have the normal hash than its the other function.

In order to tell you that, i'd have to go and figure out exactly what needs to be done to reactivate them. Its not a matter of changing a few lines of code, need to make sure all the logic is there, make sure its all updated to use current methods, need to make sure the template supports and will display the, etc.

Excellent program, i used Version 2 and loved it so i thought id give V3 a try. Since ive changed hosting i deleted everything to do with V2 and started afresh from V3.

I read the README as i always do, edited the files i was told to (although i couldnt find anything to change in Config.php...) and when i go to the insall URL i get this error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected '{' in ******httpdocs/pos/includes/class.pos.php on line 3513

Ive changed nothing, am am lost as to what this is

OK, "fixed" this myself by chaning outpos_id to outpost_name in the tower_info table. I'm sure this will probably break something else but at least I've now managed to import the tower info.

There is something buggy with the Outpost Track page. I have 4 towers linked to an outpost. When I view the outpost I get good numbers except for liquid ozone and heavy water. I get exactly the same, hit install and it just hangs for ever and ever and nothing happens on the db level.

* Current PHP version: 5.2.8 (Needs to be greater than 5.1.2)
* Your CURL Version: 7.15.5
* DATABASE OK - Version: 5.0.67-msl-usrs-icd1-log

IE7 or Firefox 3.x doesn't matter, hangs on both browsers and not just on my current computer but my main and work as well.

Hosted @ www.icdsoft.com, don't think they have limitations cuz so far i've managed to run just about anything.

Exactly why do you want to use the Outpost Track page? As it is now it seems to group together your towers so you can see the total fuel required per hour. That is great! You can type in what you have in the outpost and see how many days and hours left. The downside I see is that you have made this outpost track to calculate the 'Online' time from when the outpost was last updated. As if my towers are using the fuel in the outpost, and not their own fuel.

My situation, which I believe alot of us have, is that I have a bunch of towers that I need to fuel. I take fuel from the outpost and fuel the towers. After all towers are fueled I type in the new fuel levels that are left in the outpost so I easily can see what we are low on, and how long we will last on it next time I fuel.

I dont really understand why the outpost track calculates fuel levels from when it was last updated.

Had the support at my hosting company take a quick look at the thing to check it out and they tell me it's a problem with the software and not with the server.

New versions are always better I know, but is there anywhere I can perhaps get an older version of this amazing software to try to install?

Yep I used the installer. Typed in the boxes and no admin acount was created. All the other tables seem to be populated. Do I have the run the install from the ingame browser? (I did it in firefox).
Now the API is back up, whenever I put my api key in (even the full access one) it sits there fore a minute and gets a blank page on "admin.php?action=getcharacters" . The eve API log says that it accessed "/account/Characters.xml.aspx"

Anyways I still get the "No ID Definded" error when I go to add a tower.
Any ideas?

On another note, I added the new alchemy reactions and the unrefined materials to my database with their current IDs from EVE and it works brilliantly. I exported the two tables where I added the new materials and the reactions.

The amount of LO and HW per hour on the Outpost Track still shows way off. 15 million LO and 11k HW for 6 towers. LO should be 397 per hour, and the "online" timer shows 2D 23H left. When I run the numbers myself that online timer burns LO at a rate of 3430 per hour. Same goes with HW. The other numbers are perfect.

For Outposts that are not tracking any towers at all everything shows as 0, except for LO and HW where this field is blank.

I may have some ideas why it doesnt appear to be working. Alot of you people might be upgrading from the old version, but the fresh install (with latest MYSQL and PHP) is bugged.

I finally got the Admin account to be created.

Here are the errors I got:
Field 'alliance_id' doesn't have a default value
Field 'away' doesn't have a default value
Field 'highly_trusted' doesn't have a default value

After manually going into the database I set the defaults to 0 for each and the admin account was created.

The numbers seems to be the same as the "Online" timer now, but they are not the 397 LO and 193 HW as they should be when I add them by hand.

The online timer for oxy isotopes seems missing too. It shows the right topes required per hour put 0h online time even when I have added topes.

Ok nevermind. I figured out all my problems, but now I have a new one. When I added all my towers it is only listing one of them under the production window. I have silo, moon miners, and reactors on several towers, not just the one.

I have installed the 3.0.0 Beta 5, but cannot download POD data with API.
I have an other tool what shows the POSes data, so the API is working.

Any Idea ? where can I debug what is wrong ?

Im getting this error when updating the api data: "Error Code: 200::Current security level not high enough.", also when I tried to add the tower manually the program wont hold the charters info setting it to 0 and making the tower appear offline

Is this me being a noob?

Download afaik, as for the error, the api is for the CEO (hes only been there a couple of days if that makes a difference) and the tower is in a 0.4 system and his standings have screwed up the corps standings needed for the tower to anchor there.

Ok.. I figured out I had downloaded a just 3.0 version and then applied the beta 3. re-reading yet again I see beta 6 is out. So I pulled that and I can't get anywhere with it.

You do the install.php it says enter the databaes table database user/pass etc etc. I type that in hit the check button says ok, Hit the write button says ok. Hit create tables, and that is it. I switch over to the server and see that the tables have been written. I have even gone through and pretty much really screwed over the permissions and set everyone has full access. Bad I know but damit I wanted to see if something would work. But it doesn't.

<-- Frustrated and pulling hair out. I don't blame the code I know there something just not set right but for the life if me I don't know what. Windows Server 2000, latest php, latest mysql. (I Upgraded to latest today though I really wasn't that far back on my versions).

I found the issue. Line 1327 has "---" instead of "--" the script just stalls on that line. Simple fix devs!

I still have 2 issues.
API import doesnt work at all.
After I have added a pos. When I put in the quantity of charters, it always says 0 in the next screen.

I now get to the point of selecting install tables. I see the tables writen to the hd but it does not procede any further along the install menu's. This is beta 6. I did get past this in beta 3. But could be that I didn't have curl. I might try to go back to that version.

Similar to the API issue with having new towers added, I seem to be missing several towers randomly. For some reason, out of 10 towers in a system, 2 are missing from the POS Tracker. It isn't the first towers or the last towers. They weren't even dropped consecutively. For some reason though, they refuse to show up.

We've reloaded API director keys, regenerated full keys, etc but have had no luck in fixing it. Any pointers on where to start troubleshooting this issue? I updated to the latest files from the SVN this evening. I created the api directory in the cache folder but so far no file has been created there. Help!

Ok, I've cleared the comment slashes and it did generate the xml file. Now, how can I use this to troubleshoot why towers are not getting added via the API? I mean, I can see in the tracker that the towers are not there. Manually adding them doesn't help either since they don't get updated by the api. Any advice would be welcomed.

You need to replace /path/to/pos-tracker/ with the path to your tracker, it needs to be an absolute path and should begin with a backslash, so probably something like /home/yourusername/public_html/postracker. Its different for every system and windows users need to use something else completely.

well I am running on a vps and only ever installed php 5(PHP Version 5.2.4-2ubuntu5.5 acording to phpinfo) on it and as I said the cron job for killboards are working right

For reference sake, it would be nice if the Readme.txt could contain a list of all directories/files that you need to set permissions for (chmod ......) so you don't have to do it by trial and error.

Hmm maybe I have found the problem. When I hit update POS from API the page seems to load for ages. Same for the cron_updatepos.php. Then the last update time doesn't change and still hangs to the old value.

However, update sov and alliance works.

Having problems with fuel levels on our towers in a sov4 system. After doing some manual calculations it seems that these towers are only getting 25% fuel bonus, like the ordinary sov3 systems do. Anyone else have any problems with this? I thought sov4 gave 30% bonus but apparently CCP fails :(

I'm not sure if/where i can find those log. I use commercial webhosting with Ipower and have a vDeck platform for there control panel.

When i checked in phpmyadmin to see if something was created, there was nothing.

If you have an idea where my log could be, i would be glad to check.

I was able to create the tables by doing the prefex trick. but when i go to step 2, i get a blank page. and then I get nothing from that point on.

Anyone find a away or reason why this doesn't install ?

there is no install_tables.sql in the install/ directory ; i have a install_database.sql

i downloaded the zip also. and no install_tables.sql

He says code is messed up some how?

inside the install.php there is a variable named $step what the value is set to number 2
on line 64 the method EVEDBInit ;; when the method is called the value is step gets set to nothing

if we comment out line 9 - 17 everything works just fine.
its that code that's unsettling all the variables


what ever that means..

anyways All in All: he was able to get the tables to install, then was able to do the steps. for the install

but was a problem logging in and look around for the pos's ect so what ever was commented out is something important me think ;)

Note: I have tried this on 4 servers now and every server is having the same issue.

First, thanks for such an awesome tool! Keep up the good work. Currently on v3.0 RC1.

Install went like a dream. No issues there. Setup was easy and it is properly pulling info via the API. I just have one or two issues at the moment...

1) After logging in, I click Fuel Bill. At this point the next screen comes up with correct values but zeros for both Ozone and Heavy Water. No error is displayed. This is both before and after I apply any filters. The totals at the bottom of the page also show zero for L-Ozone and H-Water

2) Under Fuel Calculator, if I pick a POS, fill in days and hours desired, put in a ship capacity (usually used 25000) and click the Refill POS button, shows a correct Total Required for Liquid Ozone and Heavy Water, but the You Need and Volume (m3) columns list zero for both.

3) If I choose Track, then click the Edit button next to one of my towers, it lists as optimum for both Liquid Ozone and Heavy Water as zero.

4) If I choose Fuel Bill and then choose a specific region from the drop down and click Filter (leaving all other filters at default) I get the following error:

I'm sorry to resurrect this dead item, but there appears to be a bug in POSTracker RC1 with respect to ConSov. Ye olde' EVEWiki states that all of the POSes in a ConSov constellation get the 30% fuel consumption bonus, but POSTracker is only assigning that bonus through the use of sovereignty_constellation_static to POSes in a Sov 4 system. If what the wiki says is true, and at first glance it appears to be the case in spite of EVE's own display bugs, then isn't POSTracker producing the wrong fuel consumption values for POSes in a ConSov constellation but not in a Sov 4?

It seems to me that the following:

The Sov 4 check is replaced with a ConSov check, since the bonus goes to all of the POSes in the ConSov constellation. Sov 4 itself should have no bearing on fuel consumption.

Am I correct in my assumptions, or am I entirely off-base here?

I completed the install. I added my main toons api. Looks like everything is going smooth. then i hit the part in the readme file that states to use the administrator to give access to a ingame character.

there is no link on my screen i have also try typing in some of the been trying this for a while now any help would be great

I used this in a older version, back then you could add an owner of the pos. Then normal users could only see their own posses, but trustees could see all of them.

have this been removed ? or just me who cant get it to work.

Trying to install this from scratch using the RC3 from yesterday and it can't seem to even create the tables....install.php just hangs and no tables are created.

The test step work as does write config (which appears to write the dbusername and pass encrypted?), but create tables just hangs and never actually creates tables (checked in PHPMyAdmin and saw 0 tables)

I want to let you know this is a Great programm to track mine posses. Only 1 slight thing. Im running a few simple reactions. Mine pos setup is as follows:

Harverster -> Simple Reactor -> Silo
Silo->Silo ->

The problem is, I linked silo 1 and 2, then silo 2 to the simple reactor. But when silo 1 runs out of material. Instead of showing 0, it will further decrease to -XXXX. I'm experimenting on if it effects any time calculations. Altough i expect its just a glitch, would be nice if it could be solved as im lacking extenisve php skills IV.

I too am having some troubles installing RC2 from scratch.

It doesn't seem to create any tables or anything in the database, so I imported install_database.sql thru phpmyadmin. It successfully added 25 tables (or classes, what are they called :P) with the prefix pos3_.

I then proceeded to step 2, but all I got was a blank page.

Thought it didnt have all the necessary db infos so I edited teh dbconfig myself and added them passwords and stuff and now its giving me a database initialisation error when i try to go to step 2. any ideas?

Johnathan, could you please add the following to the future features request list:

My POS-Tracker fails for some days now. It worked very good, but stopped working with a message:

Warning: Smarty error: unable to read resource: "login.tpl" in /pos-tracker/includes/Smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1088

Can someone help me to fix this? I tried to setup a fresh install, but the installer won't get past the part where it is installing the database tables. If I refresh the after a loooong wait, I am again at step 1 of the installation. Funny part: Once I click the login button, I get above error as well. Hopefully someone has an idea what is broken here.

Wanted to give you (and the other POS-Tracker devs) a big thanks from Sundering corporation and other corps in Zenith Affinity who are using POS-Tracker.

As you have said above that you don't log in much anymore, can you tell us if POS-Tracker will continue to be developed and made Dominion-compliant or if we should start looking at migrating to another system? If if will not be, do you have any recommendations, we'd love to hear them.

Added a temp fix for that in the code.

Replacing the file class.pos.php with this one [ HERE ] (Google code project link) should give you back Sov 1. Wich is basically the max sov people will get anyway for now.

EDIT:
mm... now I just noticed that I gave sov but without taking into consideration if it's friendly or hostile sov. Oh well, still work for most of us who has POS in 0.0.

Got a lot of other work to do but will check where John was the last time (haven't looked at that code for awhile) and see what I can do.

I made a similar fix on my copy of RC2, and it works fine. If the hostiles have sov, it still properly calculates that you don't get a fuel bonus.
